Well, there’s no shortage of good clubs within the area that you might want to consider if you’re looking to get your toes wet within the astronomy world. There are a ton of other astronomy clubs within the West Yorkshire area that are also awesome choices for anyone looking to get into astronomy. It doesn’t matter whether you’re an experienced astronomy or a novice – all of these clubs cater to both parties.
By rule of thumb, astronomy clubs usually meet up weekly or bi weekly, but you’ll need to contact the club directy if you want to find out a little more about the clubs schedule.
Bradford Astronomy Society
One of the oldest clubs in West Yorkshire, this club has been around for decades and it’s one that you’ll want to consider if you’re looking for something within the region. It’s one of the more active clubs, and they tend to meet up every other Monday to chat astronomy. They have a pretty impressive gallery filled with pictures taken by their members that you can check out.
Huddersfield Astronomy Society
Another astronomy society that you could check out is the one up in Huddersfield. They do a great job up there and meet up pretty regularly. They also hold beginners course, which is a good option if you’re new to astronomy and are nervious about meeting a lot of more experienced astronomers. Keighley Astronomy Society
Keighley astronomy society are probably the most active within the industry, and you’re going to find them at a lot of events in the area. They host a ton of events, so it’s definitely worth checking them out if you’re interested. They also do public speaking, so if you need someone to come and talk at your school – they’re your guys.

West Yorkshire Astronomy Society
If you’re located between Leeds and Sheffield, then you can consider going out to the West Yorkshire Astronomy Society. They often have guest speakers, especially as they’re within the viscinity of so many top class universities. They open the observatory on Tuesdays and Fridays.
